“No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security”
MISLEADINGSaid in 3 broadcasts
What the record shows
Enacted law provides income tax deductions (not eliminations) for tips ($25k), overtime ($12.5-25k), and Social Security (senior deduction). Payroll taxes still apply to tips/overtime. Only 88% of seniors would pay no tax on Social Security under the policy, vs. 64% already exempt under current law.
