What the record shows
As of 2024, the US has substantial proven oil reserves (~11 billion barrels, EIA), but Russia and Saudi Arabia have larger proven reserves. The US is the world's largest oil producer by volume (EIA Petroleum Supply Monthly, 2024), but does not have the largest reserves.
