“We are sending millions and millions of barrels of oil to Houston and other places. Louisiana, Houston, Alaska even”
MISLEADING
What the record shows
EIA reports US crude imports from Venezuela reached 701,000 barrels per day in July 2026 (approximately 0.7 million b/d), the highest since May 2017, following sanctions relief in January 2026.
Claim overstates daily import rate. US receives ~0.7 million barrels per day from Venezuela, not 'millions and millions.' Directionally accurate on resumption of imports but inflates the magnitude.
