“That amount of money could pay the entire budget of the $110,000 DOJ workforce 13 times over.”
MISLEADING
What the record shows
DOJ FY2025 discretionary budget is $37.8B with ~117,000 positions; net cost of operations was $48.8B in FY2024. $800B would cover DOJ budget 16-21 times, not 13.
The math does not reconcile. $800B divided by actual DOJ budget yields 16-21x coverage, not 13x as claimed.
