MISLEADING
What the record shows
Pentagon reported $25B in costs as of April 29, 2026. By September 2026, CBO estimated $38B; by October 2026, Pentagon estimated $47.1B in total costs.
$25B was accurate for April 2026 but significantly understates costs by September-October 2026 when speaker made claim.
