The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act reduced federal revenues by ~$1.5T over 10 years (Joint Committee on Taxation, Dec 2017). The 1981 Economic Recovery Tax Act reduced revenues by ~$750B nominal (1981 dollars). In nominal terms, TCJA is larger; as % of GDP or in inflation-adjusted terms, 1981 act was more significant.
