“50% of white collar jobs are gone”

What the record shows
Dario Amodei (Anthropic CEO) projected in May 2025 that AI could eliminate 50% of entry-level white-collar jobs within 5 years. As of September 2026, actual job losses are far lower: 23% of Q1 2026 layoffs cited AI automation; entry-level workers aged 22-25 saw 16% employment decline.
