What the record shows
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported 2.4 million total apprehensions at the southwest border in FY2024 (Oct 2023–Sep 2024). No official source documents 25 million entries or releases from foreign prisons/jails into the U.S.
CBP data shows ~2.4M apprehensions in FY2024, not 25M. The claim of mass releases from foreign prisons is unsupported by DHS or CBP records.
